Lal Mian
Professor Mian's current research emphases are "Bionomics of mosquito vectors of encephalitis
in Southern California" and "Vector Ecology and Control."
Enrique Murillo, Jr.
Professor Murillo has collaborated on a number of research projects, which include documenting
the "A+" arts-enhanced curriculum at 27 North Carolina public schools, conducting research
in several community-based organizations for newly-arrived Latino immigrants, and engaging
in documentary research in a collaborative project with the Center for Documentary Studies
at Duke University. Additionally, he has conducted oral history interviews in the new, stable,
and permanent generation Latino immigrant community in NC. He has published articles in both
Educational Foundations and The Urban Review, with a forthcoming article in
the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education. He is the co-author
of two forthcoming books, Downsizing Democracy with Beacon Press, and Playgrounds
in Post-Critical Ethnography with Hampton Press.
Kathy Nadeau
Professor Nadeau has published articles on the secular basis for grassroots activism as
embodied in Basic Christian Communities and the emergence of alternative models of association,
political and economic practice in the Philippines. She also is interested in conducting
research on the latest wave of Filipino migrant workers engaged in the health industry
in the greater San Bernardino and Los Angeles area.
Patricia St. Hill
Professors St. Hill's research focuses on Women's Health, particularly minority women's health.
She recently entered into contract with F.A. Davis with regard to her upcoming book entitled
Caring for Women Cross-Culturally: A Portable Guide for the Caring Professions. She
also has submitted a manuscript entitled, "Major Fertility and Childbearing Issues
Confronting Refugee Haitian Women in the United States" to the Journal Health Care for
Women International.
