Alignment Between the University General Education Policy
and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment
Goals and Objectives




        Since 2000, the University General Education Outcomes Assessment Committee and the General Education Breadth Area Assessment Committees have worked to develop learning goals and objectives for the CSUSB General Education Program. Throughout the development process, faculty were widely consulted for acceptance of the draft outcomes and pilot studies were conducted. In 2001, faculty approved the goals for the Basic Skills Areas, and the goals for the three Breadth Areas in 2002. Faculty charged with developing the learning goals aligned them with the University General Education Policy, as demonstrated in the chart below.
