Avoiding Plagiarism Workshops

Developed by the Office of Graduate Studies, these informative workshops for graduate students will help you avoid the pitfalls of plagiarism. Find out what plagiarism is and how to avoid it through the proper use of citations, better paraphrasing, and organizing your research. The workshop will also explain how Turnitin.com is used to check for plagiarism during the thesis, project and dissertation review process.

Grad Studies Basic Research Workshop

This basic session is for grad students with little or no experience in online database searching. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the deep web, the literature review, some basic search strategies in general databases to find books and articles online, and how to customize Google Scholar. Graduate Student Advanced Research Workshop

This advanced session is for grad students who are familiar with online database searching and have used or know about the library's basic services. In this workshop, we'll explore more databases and search tools. Contact the library for dates and registration.

 

Zotero Workshop

In this workshop, learn to cite and manage multiple sources with ease. With Zotero, you can easily import and export citations to use in your text and bibliography, freeing you to concentrate on content. Contact the library for additional dates and registration.
